Wedding Dress Shopping Near Guildford, Reigate & Epsom: Why Brides Make the Trip to Dorking

If you're searching for a wedding dress shop somewhere near Guildford, Reigate, Epsom, Leatherhead, Ashtead or anywhere else along that stretch of Surrey, there's a good chance Dorking hasn't been top of your list yet. I'd love to change that and not just because it's where our boutique happens to be. Although that’s a big part of it haha!

Dorking Is Closer Than You Think

Tucked at the foot of Box Hill, Dorking sits within easy reach of most of Surrey and the southern edge of Greater London and is a short, straightforward drive from Guildford, Reigate, Epsom, Leatherhead, Ashtead, Woking, Kingston and Weybridge to name a few major towns in the county. It is also a manageable trip from Sutton, Farnham, Wimbledon and Ripley too. If you're coming from further into London, it's a genuinely pleasant train journey out of the city and honestly, an excuse for a nice day out with whomever you're bringing along.

There's free parking nearby on Sunday’s, plenty of good coffee, brunch and lunch spots in town if you want to make a proper morning or afternoon of your appointment and none of the stress of trying to find parking in the middle of a bustling town centre.

But Here's the Actual Reason Brides Travel

Proximity gets you through the door. What keeps brides coming back and recommending us to their friends, their sisters, their soon-to-be sisters-in-law, is the appointment itself. This is what makes me most proud!

Every appointment is completely private. One bride, one boutique, for the whole two hours. No other brides milling around, no shared fitting rooms, no queuing for the one good mirror. Just you, your stylist and however many people you've chosen to bring along. Maximum of four guests plus yourself please although we recommend fewer if you’re a little less confident or a people pleaser! Fewer opinions gives you fewer opportunities to become confused and/or steam-rolled.

We stock designers most local boutiques simply don't. Modeca, Dama Couture, Pollardi, Nicola Anne and Eddy K - dresses with real character that you won't find on every high street or in every bridal shop within at least a twenty-mile radius. If you've been to a few appointments already and felt like you kept seeing the same handful of dresses everywhere you went, that's exactly the gap we exist to fill. Something a little different, less conventional, less stuffy and with a few gems to tickle the taste buds of the fashion forward bride who’s not afraid to stand out!

We built the whole model around your £1,400–£3,000 budget, not around it being an afterthought. A lot of boutiques treat this range as the entry level before the "real" collection. We think it's where some of the most exciting bridal fashion in the country currently lives and our entire range reflects that. You don’t have to remortgage your home or cancel your holiday to have a stunning, custom made wedding dress. We’re definitely not the boutique selling dresses that feel unattainable for most of our clients but equally, we want to stock superior fabrics, excellent design and world class construction and that puts us in the price bracket that we are in - that’s where we’re happy.

Total honesty on pricing, from the very first conversation. No vague "prices on request." You'll know what you're working with before you fall in love with anything and if you want to be more discreet, everything has a price tag.

Planning Your Visit

A typical private appointment runs around an hour and forty five minutes and we'll always ask a little about your wedding beforehand. Your date, your venue, your rough budget, any styles you've been drawn to. We like to get a feel for the day, the vibes and what you’ve tried on so far, if anything, so we can truly understand the direction you’re going in. It could be that you’ve been pushed down a road that you’re not 100% comfortable with and we also like to make sure we allow you the space to explore all avenues at your appointment. The dress you think you want and the one you actually fall for aren't always the same dress and that's more common than you'd expect.
